Spencer Gallagher’s racing career began at age 12 in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s a journey that has led him to racing full-time in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), where he enters 2017 with a part time season of experience under his belt.
Gallagher began his career racing in a myriad of different classes at his home track, The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. While launching his career, Gallagher simultaneously spent time in Silicon Valley working in the software industry before transitioning to a full-time racing career.
In 2011, Gallagher began climbing NASCAR’s ladder system, making his first career NASCAR K&N Pro Series West start at Phoenix International Raceway, and earned his first top-10 finish on the road course at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway. Gallagher made two starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Series the same season before competing in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series.
The Las Vegas native competed in two full-time ARCA Racing Series seasons in 2012 and 2013, scored his first-career ARCA victory at Kansas Speedway in October 2014, and compiled 51-career starts. While competing in ARCA Racing Series, Gallagher made his NCWTS debut at Kansas Speedway in 2013, and immediately turned heads with a then career-best finish of third at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2014.
Gallagher made his biggest career move to date in 2015, by stepping up to contest the full NCWTS season and compete for Rookie of the Year honors. In his freshmen campaign, Gallagher constructed an impressive season by earning his career-best finish of second at Gateway (Ill.) Motorsports Park and finishing in the top 10 in the driver championship standings. Gallagher amassed one top-five and six top-10 finishes in addition to posting the track qualifying record at Daytona International Speedway.
In 2016, The Las Vegas native competed in another full-time NCWTS season where he collected three top-fives, 15 top-10’s and two pole awards. Gallagher made the move to NXS part-time. Competing in seven NXS races, with a best finish of eighth-place at Daytona International Speedway.
Gallagher is stepping up to full-time in NXS competition for the 2017 season. Allowing him to compete for Rookie of the Year honors.
